The Spring 2022 issue of NURSING FOR/UM, the University of Maryland’s School of Nursing alumni magazine, takes a look at school nurses — who are, of course, about more than “just boo-boos, Band-Aids, and medication administration.” Today’s school nurses need to become experts in many aspects of pediatric primary care. Also in this issue: a sneak peek at some of the contents of a time capsule to be enclosed in the new School of Nursing building and an impact story about using virtual reality to manage pain. Personalized and caring, York makes the financial aid process easy to navigate. And the results are positive, with 99% of new full-time students receiving aid and/or grants.

The fall 2021 issue of York College Magazine focuses on community engagement. The cover story is about a scholarship program that gives high school students a tuition-free education at York College, a worthwhile investment because many of the program’s recipients give back to the community after graduation.

A second feature focuses on the Student Academic Innovation Lab (S.A.I.L) which applies design-thinking to build stronger bonds of collaboration and engagement between students and faculty in the Spartan community.

The University of Baltimore Magazine for Fall 2021 highlights the artistic visions of three photographers. The snowy street scene on the cover is by A. Aubrey Bodine, who chronicled the city for The Baltimore Sun and whose daughter Jennifer Bodine, is the keeper of his legacy. The photos of Sue Tatterson range from East Coast abandoned spaces to vistas of the American Southwest. And Kimberlee Jenkins focuses on vibrant, authentic portraits of her subjects.
