New Book for Johns Hopkins Medicine

The Skin and Its Contents, The History of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Johns Hopkins, is a 228-page casebound book that traces the history, evolution and achievements of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Johns Hopkins Medicine. Highlights include the founding of the department in 1889, key players who paved the way for the discipline, the effort it took to create the department, groundbreaking research and discoveries, and advancement in transplantation and surgical techniques. Compelling artwork by Valerie Chang for the cover and section dividers provides a visually rich overview of the department’s achievements from the last 135 years.
