York College of Pennsylvania: Financing Your Education
A personal approach to financial aid. A best buy that’s totally worth it. This sums up the approach behind the financial aid booklet we designed in our ongoing admissions work for York College of Pennsylvania. Personalized and caring, York makes the financial aid process easy to navigate. And the results are positive, with 99% of new full-time students receiving aid and/or grants.

York College of Pennsylvania Alumni Magazine
The fall 2021 issue of York College Magazine focuses on community engagement. The cover story is about a scholarship program that gives high school students a tuition-free education at York College, a worthwhile investment because many of the program’s recipients give back to the community after graduation.
A second feature focuses on the Student Academic Innovation Lab (S.A.I.L) which applies design-thinking to build stronger bonds of collaboration and engagement between students and faculty in the Spartan community.
University of Baltimore Magazine
The University of Baltimore Magazine for Fall 2021 highlights the artistic visions of three photographers. The snowy street scene on the cover is by A. Aubrey Bodine, who chronicled the city for The Baltimore Sun and whose daughter Jennifer Bodine, is the keeper of his legacy. The photos of Sue Tatterson range from East Coast abandoned spaces to vistas of the American Southwest. And Kimberlee Jenkins focuses on vibrant, authentic portraits of her subjects.
Johns Hopkins Medicine Breakthrough Journal
The winter 2021 issue of Breakthrough, Johns Hopkins Medicine’s research journal, features the Institute for Humanizing Medicine, whose mission is to equip clinicians to better know their patients as unique individuals. Other articles include an interview with the clinician that coined the term “personomics”; how the humanities and social sciences must play a vital role in the training of excellent physicians; and significant advances in geriatrics from the Human Aging Project.
Read the new issue on the CIM website.
Johns Hopkins Medicine: Leap Rounds
We recently designed the next two issues of Leap Rounds, a bi-annual newsletter that serves as an extension of Leap Magazine. Each issue focuses on a key doctor or researcher of Johns Hopkins Medicine Division of Rheumatology. The fall issue features Dr. Baer, an expert on Sjogren’s Disease and the winter issue features Dr. Christopher-Stine, director of the Johns Hopkins Myositis Center.

Redesigned: University of Minnesota School of Public Health Magazine
When UMN’s School of Public Health contacted us to refresh their alumni magazine, we recommended three essential changes: (1) develop a clear editorial hierarchy throughout the magazine, (2) divide the magazine into distinct sections that include recurring themes and departments, and (3) limit feature stories to two or three, opening each one with unique artwork and typography to distinguish these longer stories from other sections of the magazine.
