Redesigned: Johns Hopkins SAIS Magazine
An Alumni Magazine for the Top International Studies Graduate School
To further strengthen the national and global institutional profile of Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), we redesigned SAIS Magazine to showcase the School’s rapidly evolving curricular offerings and intellectual vibrancy. Working with editorial consultant Sue DePasquale, we created and implemented an architecture for the print edition that would translate seamlessly to the new digital version of the magazine, designed and developed in partnership with Friends of the Web. Overall, the redesign creates a stronger visual impact for the magazine, with a better balance between compelling, large images and smaller ones, more white space throughout the publication, and a more sophisticated use of typography and color.

University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business Magazine
The fall issue of Mendoza Business, the alumni magazine of the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business, says hello to Generation Z. The cover story, “The Up & Comers,” profiles business school students who take the innovations of the internet revolution for granted.
Other features include: new research that finds generic medications are more frequently recalled than their brand-name counterparts; how culture change could help hospitals protect information-rich digital health records; and closing the income inequality gap in business.
The annual Dean’s report was also included in the mailing of this issue. The report was framed around the “three Cs” of business: contribute, cooperate, and compete, with custom illustrations throughout by Scott Roberts.
Johns Hopkins Leap Magazine
The winter 2019 issue of Leap Magazine for Johns Hopkins Medicine Division of Rheumatology features groundbreaking medical images that capture unique proteins doing unusually bad things. Other stories include faculty at the forefront of medical informatics and a photo essay on the department’s newest scholars. Illustration by Dan Page. Photography by Howard Korn.
The Campaign for WGBH
In our continued campaign work for WGBH, in collaboration with Robert Gray Writing and Editing, we recently produced a gate-fold brochure for WGBH’s Media Library and Archives. The MLA works to preserve one of the world’s richest archives of film, video and audio recordings dating to 1946 and covering many of the most culturally and historically important events of our time.
York College of Pennsylvania Alumni Magazine
The Winter 2018 issue of York College Magazine features student artist and fellow, Lexus Gore, whose work explores community issues. Other stories include recent faculty research on viral outbreaks and York’s Hidden Figures, a yearlong series of events celebrating the city’s history of communities of color and underserved populations.
