Consistency is key.

Large or small, all organizations benefit from consistent brand identity and messaging. Even small institutions produce a variety of marketing materials ranging from print to web to advertising. Whatever the medium, the visual identity should be clear and consistent.

The goal is to communicate a single brand. When that can be done in surprising and intriguing ways, everyone wins.

Our Winter Break Intern

We had a terrific intern over the holiday break: Caitlin Eversmier, a sophomore at McDaniel College, is a double-major in graphic design and environmental studies. She did a great job doing marketing and production work for our studio, and she accompanied us on her first press inspection for a McDaniel brochure. Based on her solid work ethic and fine skills, we think she has a bright future ahead of her!

St. Mary’s College of Maryland, Mulberry Tree Magazine

Organic farming is nothing new at St. Mary's College of Maryland. Two biology professors were profiled in the fall 1975 issue of Mulberry Tree, working with students to run a 3/4 acre organic garden. The winter 2016 issue picks up with a cover story on the Campus Community Farm, a self-sustaining enterprise that harvests and sells organic produce and prepares students for careers in related fields. In another community outreach program, SMC students, enrolled in a “Community Sustainable Design” course, work with local residents on the “Tiny House Project” building two residential dwellings, each less than 200 square feet.

Website Refresh: Bill Denison Photography

Responsive websites are a must. Professional photographer Bill Denison’s site, which we designed in 2013 using traditional HTML, was recently brought up-to-date. To accomplish this, we maintained the original site architecture and pushed all content into smart web templating software. The results are an easy work flow in the back-end and a site that can be viewed on any device. See for yourself here.
