In the fall 2022 issue of the alumni magazine, the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management pays tribute to 10 years of accomplishments and progress under the leadership of outgoing Dean Sri Zaheer. Along with a timeline of her tenure, Zaheer’s story is told through quotes by prominent business leaders and alumni who have been influenced by her vision. The issue also includes stories about Carlson’s place as the #1 military-friendly graduate business school in the U.S., and an alum who has been the CEO of his family business for the past six decades.
York College’s “Evolve” campaign is symbolized on the Fall 2022 cover by the campus’s central fountain which is scheduled to be rejuvenated with donated funds. Gwen Keraval illustrated the fountain surrounded by adjacent buildings and symbols of the technology and science curricula at the college. Also in this issue: Historic Connection – students involved in the renovation of a historic hotel in York, and Measuring Up – how York’s internship and co-op programs are preparing students for lifelong careers.
University of Minnesota School of Public Health’s fall 2022 issue of Advances focuses on Aging. It is a complex subject and connected to nearly every aspect of contemporary life, from how we handle disease to how we design crosswalks to how we address the needs or racial, ethnic, and sexual minorities. Other stories include polarized political landscapes that sideline public health policy and a faculty member’s focus on the diseases of poverty.

Nanovic’s Year in Review celebrates the thirty year anniversary of the University of Notre Dame’s Nanovic Institute for European Studies, whose mission has been “turning hearts and minds to Europe.” We divided the text into four sections, each bookmarked with an antique map of a major European city. Each section contains news highlights of the past year followed by profiles and stories of faculty and students. The centerpiece of the book celebrates the 30th anniversary with a brief history of the Institute, a timeline of notable events, and key profiles.
The current two issues of Leap Rounds, the bi-annual newsletters associated with Leap Magazine, profile researchers at Johns Hopkins Medicine Division of Rheumatology. The fall 2022 issue features Dr. Ami Shah, who studies clinical and therapeutic aspects of scleroderma, Raynaud’s phenomenon and related fibrosing syndromes. The winter issue features Dr. Ana-Maria Orbai, Associate Professor in the Division of Rheumatology, who is internationally recognized for her contributions to the field of psoriatic arthritis.

The fall 2022 issue of Breakthrough, Johns Hopkins Medicine’s research journal, features an initiative that goes to the very core of providing effective health care: getting to know patients as people. Other articles include transformative projects by medical trainees across Johns Hopkins to develop methods for more personalized patient care; focus on the new Human Aging Project that looks for high-tech solutions for healthier aging; and a look at music as medicine for older adults.

We recently designed a 248-page catalog for The Phillips Collection exhibition, An Italian Impressionist in Paris: Giuseppe De Nittis. Heavily influenced by Degas, Manet, and other prominent impressionists of the period, De Nittis’s extensive body of work depicts lives and landscapes in late-19th century Italy, Paris, and London. This book marks the first exhibition in the U.S. devoted to the work of Giuseppe De Nittis.
For the Detroit Institute of Arts, we designed an elegant carrier that folded like the petals of a flower, alluding to the Van Gogh in America exhibition. The gala package contained an invitation and response card for dinner and an exclusive preview of the Van Gogh exhibition. The carrier features a detail of Van Gogh’s Roses, 1890, on loan from the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC.
