The fall 2021 issue of York College Magazine focuses on community engagement. The cover story is about a scholarship program that gives high school students a tuition-free education at York College, a worthwhile investment because many of the program’s recipients give back to the community after graduation.

A second feature focuses on the Student Academic Innovation Lab (S.A.I.L) which applies design-thinking to build stronger bonds of collaboration and engagement between students and faculty in the Spartan community.

The University of Baltimore Magazine for Fall 2021 highlights the artistic visions of three photographers. The snowy street scene on the cover is by A. Aubrey Bodine, who chronicled the city for The Baltimore Sun and whose daughter Jennifer Bodine, is the keeper of his legacy. The photos of Sue Tatterson range from East Coast abandoned spaces to vistas of the American Southwest. And Kimberlee Jenkins focuses on vibrant, authentic portraits of her subjects.

Redesigned: University of Minnesota School of Public Health Magazine

umsph_01_.jpg

When UMN’s School of Public Health contacted us to refresh their alumni magazine, we recommended three essential changes: (1) develop a clear editorial hierarchy throughout the magazine, (2) divide the magazine into distinct sections that include recurring themes and departments, and (3) limit feature stories to two or three, opening each one with unique artwork and typography to distinguish these longer stories from other sections of the magazine.
