Skelton Sprouls recently completed an annual report for the University of Notre Dame’s Liu Institute for Asia and Asian Studies. Subjects include how the Institute has grown, events on campus and updates on research and programs. Elegant typography and artwork pulled from custom-made graduation stoles can be seen throughout the piece, including a metallic foil stamped bird on the cover.
A YEAR IN REVIEW
How do you fit a years worth of events, programs and progress into forty pages? By breaking the publication into three key sections: growth, community and scholarship, a framework was developed to support the Institute’s mission to promote awareness, understanding, and knowledge of Asia. Captioned photography, call-outs and sidebars provide additional details.
ON THE COVER
Liu Institute students commissioned Asian artisans to batik custom designs on their graduation stoles. To highlight the beauty of that work, we foil stamped one of the elaborate drawings onto the cover of the publication. The results are striking and immediate.
“The foil bird is breathtaking, the cover paper is exquisite, the colors and photos are gorgeous. We can’t wait to distribute this to ND (Notre Dame) administration, institute advisory board, faculty fellows, and the Liu family. You have elevated our institute and our brand.”
