The summer 2025 issue of Breakthrough, Johns Hopkins Medicine’s research journal, reports that leaders of the Center for Humanizing Medicine are on an ambitious mission: to create nothing less than a national model for humanized health care. Also in this issue: why attending to a patient’s spiritual and religious beliefs is often critical to providing optimal clinical care; the importance of carefully listening to patients; using generative AI to turn doctor-patient conversations into structured clinical notes; and the wisdom and insight gained from working with master clinicians.

Read the new issue on the CIM website.
